HISTORY, ACCESSIBILITY & ARCHITECTURAL FLAIR!

Incorporated in 1854 as Uniontown, Anacostia was one of the city's first suburbs.  A neighborhood steeped in history, Frederick Douglass purchased a home at 14th & W St SE in 1877 and lived here until 1895.  The Frederick Douglass home is now a historic landmark and is listed on the DC Inventory of Historic sites. The Historic District is roughly bounded by Good Hope Rd. on the north, Fendall St. and the rear of the Frederick Douglass home on the east, Bangor St. & Morris Rd. on the south and Martin Luther King Ave. on the west.  

When you nest in Anacostia, you can choose between a variety of architectural styles such as craftsman, bungalow, victorian and colonials.  Located right off 295, Anacostia is easily accessible from all points and is nestled between 2 metro stops. 

Deemed one of the hottest neighborhoods by the Washington Post to invest, you will find a welcoming community with a burgeoning art scene, waterfront views, independent boutiques, bike trails and the Anacostia Art Center.
